K7 THE NATIONAL GALLERY OF ART By an Act of Congress on March 24, 1937, the Vational Gallery of Art was established. The building cost $15,000.000 and was erected with the fúnds given by the late Andrew W. Mellon. The collections include Mr. Mellon's, private col- lection of Art which he also gave to the Gallery, and that of Mr. Samuel H.
