Cheers, located across the street from the Boston Public Garden in Beacon Hill, was found- ed in 1969 as the Bull& Finch Pub. It gained fame as the bar seen in the NBC TV sitcom Cheers. While the show was in development, the creators envisioned setting the show in Barstow, California or Kansas City before deciding on Boston. The Bull& Finch was cho- sen randomly from a phone book. The producers asked the bar's owner, Tom Kershaw, to shoot test photos, they liked what they saw, and the rest is history. Due to the show's pop- ularity, Kershaw's quiet pub became an international tourist destination, and remains one fifty busiest pubs/restaurants in America. Wouldn't you like to get away?
