The White House
THE WHITE HOUSE - SOUTH FRONT Washington, D.C. The first public building to be begun in Washinaton when its cornerstone was laid on October 13, 1792. All Presidents except George Washington, have lived here. The mansion was partially destroyed by the British in 1814, but was rebuilt during the two decades following, adding the north and south porticos.
