BIG ROUND TOP FROM DEVIL'S DEN, GETTYSBURG, PA.—This view from the rear of Devil's Den shows the position of Smith's New York Battery. They, together with the sup- porting infantry, made a gallant stand, and when finally forced to retire were compelled to abandon a part of the battery. Round Top, showing in the background, was the extrem Big of the main line of the Union army.
