CYPRESS GARDENS owned and operated by the City of Charleston, South Carolina Three miles of footpaths meander around and through Cypress Gardens'swamp. Constructed manually in the 1920's under the direction of Benjamin L. Kittredge, these paths are still flanked by the Gardens'original azaleas, camellias, tea olives and winter blooming Daphne.
