Possibly in Batavia NY. I have seen the old photos of a Palace of Sweets that was there and the building looks very much like this one but the address was not 1040 - it was a 3-digit address on Main St.
So I’m not sure if this Palace of Sweets was the one in Batavia. There were other businesses in other states called Palace of Sweets. One in Michigan that I know of. And I think a couple of others.
