GREEN LINE OUTBOUND TRAIN STOP SNOW PLOW

MBTA Snow Plow in Action Blizzard of 1978 On February 6th, 1978 the metropolitan Boston area was hit with a blizzard that dumped over 2½ feet of snow and virtually brought everything that moved to a halt. One of the first lines to get moving was the MBTA's Riverside line. Pictured here is plow 5123, a product of 1907, bucking drifts and level snow over 30 inches deep. It has taken almost 6 hours to come from Ken- more Station out to Newton Highlands. February 9, 1978. Photo by Norton D. ClarkТР63 Published by Audio-Visual Designs, P.O.
