The floor of the valley is a beautiful meadow, through which flows the sparkling Merced River. Into the valley falls the loftiest cata- ract in the world, Yosemite Falls, 2,425 feet. Bridal Veil Fall, noted for its beauty, has a sheer drop of 620 feet. Nevada Fall, 594 feet and Vernal, a solid sheet of crystal wa- ter 80 feet wide at the crest, drops 317 feet.
