Lynn Should Elect a Woman to the SCHOOL COMMITTEE MRS. BESSIE H. HENRY Graduate of Georgetown, Mass., High School, and resident of Lynn 12 years. Election, Tuesday, Dec. 12, 1916 66 Roy L. Peabody, 18a Bulfinch St., Lynn.
Why should Lynn not have one woman on the School Committee? MRS. HENRY FAVORS: More money for the evening and primary schools and less for costly buildings and costly locations such as involved in the building of the Classical High. No military training for young people. More use of school buildings by the public. No costly gymnasiums for a very few, while thousands attend schools underfed. Every effort possible to retain the best teachers Full development of the policy of examinations of the children by specialists that they may attend school under best possible conditions to get benefits. The lives of the scholars and teachers should be protected from fire, and, if necessary, Lynn should pay cost by a bond issue. over
