PICKETT'S CHARGE, BATTLE OF GETTYSBURG, PA The picture represented here is reproduced from standard painting of that climax in the Battle of Gettysburg that came with the assault of Longstreet's columns on the third day, headed by Pickett's division of Virginians. The desperate character of the attack and defence is depicted in the hand-to-hand fight over the stone wall. This painting is the work of the celebrated artist, P. F.
